Recensione di "A Savage Season: A Tribute to Cormac McCarthy"
This compilation of photographs, accompanied by a meandering guitar solo reminiscent of the dark ballads from Chris Isaaks Baja Sessions, is meant to serve as a tribute (evidently) to McCarthys western novels. The series of black-and-white photos create an appropriate aesthetic accompaniment to the dark thematic tendencies of McCarthys western novels. Though Delcado's photographs are not directly linked to Suttree, they provide an interesting insight into the overall appreciation of McCarthys fiction and how McCarthy's works are perceived by his fans. Incidentally, the hard-to-please suzerains responsible for policing the McCarthy Society page & discussion forum offer their seal of approval to this photo tribute in the form of a link with a brief thumb's-up critique. There has been only one other notable attempt to capture the feel of McCarthys fiction in photo/cinematic form, Thorntons adaptation of All the Pretty Horses. Fans were dismayed to discover that much of Thorntons noble endeavor ended up on the cutting room floor, so McCarthy fans will have to wait and see if the Coen brothers give their adaptation of McCarthys No Country For Old Men its due.
